The season opens with a droll tragi-comic romance from director, Aki Kaurismäki, which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival last year. The Finnish master returns with a typical minimalist masterpiece. In modern-day Helsinki, two lonely souls meet in a karaoke bar and try to build a relationship. Their path to happiness is beset by obstacles, from lost phone numbers to mistaken addresses, alcoholism and a charming stray dog.
