First-time director Celine Song has created a beautifully constructed romance which follows the lives of two deeply connected childhood friends, Nora and Hae Sung. They are wrested apart after Nora's family emigrates from South Korea to Canada and then New York. Twenty years later, they are reunited for one fateful week as they confront notions of love and destiny. The film won 210 nominations including two Oscars and five Golden Globes and won 74 awards.
