The first part of the season ends with a beautifully crafted, charming animation telling the story of Dog who decides to build himself a companion, Robot. Dialogue-free, but with evocative sound design, Robot Dreams, is full of pleasing nods to silent cinema as the pair discover sights and sounds of 1980s New York. To quote one review: “This movie is basically the animated version of Past Lives”.
